Effect of smartphone application on quality of bowel preparation

摘要 目的评估辅助使用智能手机应用程序(application,APP)对患者教育对肠道准备质量的影响。方法患者随机分为两组:观察组,479例,接受智能手机APP指导肠道准备;对照组,470例,接受常规肠道准备教育。主要终点结果根据波士顿肠道准备评估量表(Boston Bowel Preparation Scale,BBPS)评分。次要终点结果包括息肉检出率(polyp detection rate,PDR)、插入成功率、插入和退出时间、焦虑评分、自评睡眠质量、是否愿意再次进行结肠镜检查。结果观察组BBPS总分显著高于对照组[(7.5±1.2)分vs(6.5±1.2)分,P<0.001]。观察组PDR(39.5%,189/479)高于对照组(31.7%,149/470,P=0.013),平均每例患者息肉检出数也高于对照组(P=0.025)。观察组插入时间短于对照组[(8.8±4.0)min vs(10.5±4.2)min,P<0.001]。观察组焦虑评分较低,睡眠质量较好,更愿意重复结肠镜检查。结论智能手机APP可以有效地指导患者改善结肠镜检查前的肠道准备质量。 Objective To evaluate the effect of patient′s education assisted by smartphone applications(APP)on the quality of bowel preparation.Methods The patients were randomly divided into two groups.A total of 479 patents in observation group were accepted smartphone APP guidance for bowel preparation,and 470 patients in control group were accepted conventional education.The primary outcome was the quality of the bowel preparation according to the Boston Bowel Preparation Scale(BBPS).The secondary outcomes included polyp detection rate(PDR),cecal intubation rate,insertion and withdrawal time,anxiety score,self-rated sleep quality,willingness to take another colonoscopy.Results Total BBPS score of observation group was significantly higher than that in the control group[(7.5±1.2)scores vs(6.5±1.2)scores,P<0.001].PDR in observation group(39.5%,189/479)was higher than that in the control group(31.7%,149/470,P=0.003)and mean number of polyps detected per patient was higher,too(P=0.025).The cecal insertion time of the observation group was shorter than that of the control group[(8.8±4.0)min vs(10.5±4.2)min,P<0.001].Observation group showed lower anxiety scores,better quality sleep and more likely willing to repeat colonoscopy.Conclusion Patients instruction via smartphone APP efficiently improved bowel preparation for colonoscopy.
