摘要
由美国学者马克·本德尔领衔翻译的《苗族史诗》充分体现出阐释学所提出的译者主体性在翻译中的重要作用。该书不仅是苗族文化史上的一个标志性经典文献,也为日渐成为国际显学的苗族古歌学搭建了译作文化交流的桥梁。本文以阐释学提出的翻译四步骤(信任、侵入、吸收和补偿)为框架,探析《苗族史诗》英译本译者主体性在文本选择、翻译策略、文化阐释等方面的具体体现,以期为少数民族典籍的翻译和研究提供借鉴。
Hmong Oral Epics is a book translated by Mark Bender,an American scholar,and his team.It fully reflects the importance of translator's subjectivity in the translation proposed by translational hermeneutics.As a classical literature of the Miao culture,the book contributes greatly to the cultural exchange of translated works for the study of the Miao epic songs which has gradually become a discipline with international influences.Based on the four stages in the hermeneutic model of translation,namely,initiative trust,aggressive intrusion,incorporation and restitution of balance,this paper explores the translator's subjectivity in the translation of Hmong Oral Epics in terms of text selection,translation strategies and cultural interpretation,with a view to providing reference and inspiration for the translation and research of ethnic classics.
