摘要
霸王朝山城位于吉林省集安市财源镇霸王村东北约4.3公里的大山深谷(图一),是一座典型的高句丽时期簸箕形山城。山城所在区域为吉林省通化县、集安市和辽宁省桓仁县三市县交界地带,新开河与浑江在山下交汇,是高句丽交通道上的重要节点,也是高句丽早中期核心区域联系的重要节点。
Excavation of hill-top city at Bawangchao conducted by the Jilin Provincial Institute of Cultural Relics and Archaeology et al.from 2015-2016 has made it possible to accurately assess the state of the hill-top city site and thoroughly understand the structure and architectural characteristics of the city wall.The two city gates are oriented NW-SE.Stone sockets for door pivots and edging stones were found on both sides of doorway.A platform lay outside the north gate,while steps were found outside the south gate.The southeast corner platform and excavated two sections of city wall were all built directly on base rock through intersecting wedge-shaped and shuttle-shaped stones,and using sophisticated stone masonry,the exterior fa?ade was slightly tapered.Parapet walls and post holes were also found on the top of the city wall.Based on archaeological and chronological evidence,The hill-top city at Bawangchao is thought to be a defensive military city during the late Goguryeo,occupied between AD 6^(th)-7^(th) century.
