摘要
《四库全书总目》对小说的著录与其小说观念、小说分类和著录标准密切相关。由纪昀“总其事”的四库馆臣的小说观念,虽有重实轻虚的倾向,但已明确将小说与史传区分开来,且肯定了小说可以虚构的文体特性。其三分法的小说分类也有简洁明确的优长,但还应重新审视其科学性与合理内核。其“寓劝戒,广见闻,资考证”及“近雅训”等著录标准,也仍然有参考价值。从其唐代小说的著录切入来考察,有四个方面的问题值得关注:小说分类与收录标准,小说作者考证与文献的广搜精择,小说版本梳理与文献的参校互勘,小说价值评估与多元视角观照。其中体现出来的治学思想与研究方法在当下古代小说研究中仍具有学术价值和借鉴意义。
The description and record of novels in Imperial Catalog of the Four Treasuries is closely relat-ed to its novel concept,novel classification and description standard.Although the novel concept of the scholars and officials who compelled the Four Treasuries and were influenced mainly by Ji Yun,tends to emphasize reality and despise emptines,it has clearly distinguished the novel from historical biography,and affirmed the stylistic characteristics that the novel can be made up.The novel classification of its tri-section also has concise and clear advantages,but its scientific and reasonable essence should be re-ex-amined.Its description standards such as"combining persuasion,extending knowledge,examining mate-rials"and admiring elegance and training"still have value for reference.From the perspective of the de-scription of these novels in the Tang Dynasty,there are four aspects worthy of attention:novel classifica-tion and collection standards,textual research of novel authors and extensive search and selection of doc-uments,sorting of novel versions and mutual survey of documents,novel value evaluation and multi-per-spective observation.The academic pursuit thoughts and research methods embodied in the novels still have academic value and reference significance in the current study of ancient novels.
