摘要
一直以来学界对语料库翻译学属于学科还是范式的问题存有争议。本文尝试回归语料库翻译学本身,从其发展历程中寻找答案。本文首先回顾了语料库翻译学基于语料库的研究范式,发现语料库翻译学和基于语料库的翻译研究二者之间容易出现混淆。随后,本文发现语料库驱动也可作为语料库翻译学的研究范式,并对语料库驱动的范式展开思考。整体来看,语料库翻译学是具有基于语料库和语料库驱动两种研究范式的独立学科,其学科属性为与描写翻译学并立的翻译学分支。本文认为应明晰学科与范式的使用,承认基于语料库与语料库驱动作为研究范式的地位;应强化语料库驱动范式的发展,这有利于明确并深化语料库翻译学的学科属性。
It has been a longstanding controversy whether Corpus Translation Studies(CTS)belongs to a paradigm or a discipline.This paper attempted to answer this question by seeking evidence from the development of CTS.Firstly,the corpus-based translation study was reviewed,with itself being the main research paradigm,which has been confused with corpus translation studies.The corpus-driven method was then found to be an as effective research paradigm as the corpus-based method was.An in-depth discussion on the corpus-driven paradigm was made.In general,parallel to Descriptive Translation Studies,CTS is an independent sub-division of translation studies,with corpus-based and corpus-driven methods as its research paradigms.Distinction should be made between the discipline and the paradigm.Corpus-based and corpus-driven methods could be equally adopted as the research paradigms of CTS,and special attention should be given to the corpus-driven method,which could further enhance our understanding of the nature of CTS as an independent discipline.
