摘要
章太炎的经史观经历了从早年"以经为史"到晚年"经为史纲"的转变过程。早年"以经为史"是将经学作为纯粹历史研究,这一史观是由道家史观与西方进化史观糅合而成,道家史观则是哲学宇宙论视角运用于思想史之表现,章太炎在否定经世致用的经学传统的同时,亦提出了以历史建构民族认同的主张。章太炎在清末民初围绕真如本体来构建义理体系,从而实现了经史观之宇宙论到本体论的哲学进路之转换,他进而以"无我之法"与"有我之法"来划分儒家经籍,含"无我之法"者为经,含"有我之法"者即为"旧法世传之史"。"有我之法"即"修己治人"之学,章太炎晚年以"修己治人"来重构经、史之关系,回到了传统"经为史纲"的立场,又出于以史学来挽救现代中国危机的考虑,仍延续了"史即新经"的提法。
Zhang Taiyan’s conception in the study of classics and history has undergone a transition from “considering Confucian classics as history” to “considering Confucian classics as the outline of history”. In his early years, he believed that study of Confucian classics is pure historical research, which was a blend of the Taoist historical view and the Western evolutionary historical view, and the Taoist historical view was a manifestation of the philosophical cosmology applied to the history of thought. Zhang Taiyan, while denying the practical tradition of Confucian classics, also put forward the ideas of constructing national identity with history. In the later Qing Dynasty and the early Republic of China, Zhang Taiyan constructed a theoretical system around the Tathatā Noumenon, thus realizing the transition from cosmological to ontological philosophy, and he further divided the Confucian classics into “the Law of non-self” and “the Law of having self”, the former is sutras, and the later is “the history of old law handed down from generation to generation”. In his later years, Zhang Taiyan reconstructed relationship between the classics and the history with the theory of “governing others by cultivate oneself’s moral character”, and returned to the traditional position of “considering Confucian classics as outline of history”, so he still continued the concept of “history being the new classics”.
