摘要
"疫情"的意义本是"疫病的发生和发展情况",但在时下的语言交际中已经产生了"流行性传染病"的新义。"疫情"在旧义和新义上,要求意义不同的词语与之搭配,"疫情"在新义上和"瘟疫""疫病"的搭配范围几乎重合,可以视为后者的同义词。"疫情"中的"情"意义很空泛,发话人为了委婉的表达,直接用"疫情"中的"疫"指代"瘟疫","疫情"就产生了新义。
The meaning of"yiqing"should be"the occurrence and development of epidemic disease",however in the current communication,yiqing has taken a new meaning,which is"epidemic"or"pandemic".Differences between old meaning and new meaning lead to different words collocation."Yiqing"(new meaning),wenyi and yibing have almost the same collocation range,and become synonyms.Since the meaning of the morpheme qing is abstract,speakers use yiqing as euphemism for wenyi to soften the potentially offensive effects.
