摘要
韩斌致力中国文学英译事业数十载,笔耕不息,译作迭出。梳理韩斌中国文学英译脉络及译事活动轨迹,以贾平凹短篇小说《倒流河》英译为例,探讨韩斌翻译策略与翻译思想,发现韩斌对中国文学外译的贡献不仅在于译著丰富,其在人才培养和中国文学推广方面发挥的重要作用亦不容忽视。在翻译实践方面,韩斌秉持“直意结合、归异并举”的翻译策略,既最大程度再现原文意指,亦关怀译语读者阅读体验。缕析韩斌译事活动及翻译思想有助于引起学界对译者群体的关注,同时对译者在中国文学外译中的作用探析具有一定启示意义。
Nicky Harman has devoted herself to English translation of Chinese literature for twenty years with abundant translation works.Here is an attempt to sort out her translation works and translation activities,and to probe into her translation thoughts with the English translation of Backflow as an example.Nicky Harman's contribution lies not only in her translated works,but also in her important role in the cultivation of novice translators and the promotion of Chinese literature.In terms of translation practice,Nicky Harman adheres to the translation strategy of"combining literal and liberal translation",not only to represent the original meaning to the greatest extent,but also cater to the target readers'expectation.The exploration of Nicky Harman's translation activities may arouse the attention of the academic circle to translator study,and shed new light to the translation and dissemination of Chinese literature.
