摘要
"白兰瓜"属于厚皮甜瓜的光皮品种类型,出产于"瓜果之城"甘肃兰州,为兰州名优农产品的佼佼者,在国际瓜果市场上曾享有盛誉。基于对相关史料和文献的初步梳理,以亨利·阿加德·华莱士(Henry Agard Wallace)、张心一、华尔特尔·克莱·罗德明(Walter Clay Lowdermilk)等3位中美知名人士的相互关系和交往史为线索,探究了"白兰瓜"从美国引种到兰州的起因与动议、引进过程,以及试种与更名、推广与兴衰的部分史实。同时,对有关"白兰瓜"引种的"异说"进行了辨析。
"White Lanzhou Melon"is a variety of thick-skinned melon,which is produced in Lanzhou,Gansu province,a city of melons and fruits.It stands out among famous agricultural products in Lanzhou,and had a high reputation in the international musk melon and fruit market.Based on a preliminary review of relevant historical materials and documents,we took the relationship and communication history among Henry Agard Wallace,Zhang Xinyi and Walter Clay Lowdermilk,the three famous Chinese and American figures as a clue,then explored the cause,motion,introduction process,trial planting and renaming,promotion,rise and fall of"White Lanzhou Melon"introduced from the United States to Lanzhou.At the same time,the different opinions about the introduction of"White Lanzhou Melon"were analyzed.
