摘要
移动技术辅助语言学习(MALL)具有承载多模态符号系统的优势,但是对ESP多模态课堂教学的效果如何还缺乏足够的实证研究。本研究采用准实验研究的方法,以学习ESP(旅游英语)的两个自然班学生为实验对象,借助ESP微信移动学习平台开展多模态教学实验。研究发现,MALL能从总体上有效地提高学生的ESP多模态读写能力,但对学生文化读写能力和语言翻译阅读能力的提升效果不明显,同时也没有负面影响。另外,该实验在外语多模态资源的输入、多模态任务的制定、移动技术和移动设备的选择等方面给予我们若干有益的启示。
Mobile Assisted Language Learning(MALL) has the advantage of bearing multi-modal symbolic system,but it lacks enough empirical research on the effect of ESP teaching in a multi-modal classroom.In this study,a quasi-experimental study was conducted with two natural classes learning ESP(Tourism English) as the subjects,and carried out with the help of a we-chat mobile learning platform of ESP.The results show that MALL can effectively improve students’ ESP multi-literacy on the whole,but it has no more ground in the development of the students’ multi-literacy of culture,traditional reading,translating abilities.However,no negative effects are produced either.In addition,the experiment gives us some useful enlightenment in the ways of input of multi-modal resources,the formulation of multi-modal tasks,the selection of mobile technology and mobile devices during foreign language teaching process.
