摘要
英国作家托马斯·哈代以他的故乡为依托,建立了一个独一无二的"威塞克斯"世界。《德伯家的苔丝》作为哈代的代表作,蕴含了不少中国传统文化元素:苔丝的"孝女"与"贞妇"人物形象,契合中国传统道德观念中对女性的要求;苔丝对命运妥协的人生选择,与中国人"成事在天"的天命观有着相通之处;哈代对苔丝反抗的结局处理,也符合中国人对"大圆满"结局的象征性符号的意义追求。
