摘要
"语用身份"作为当前语用身份研究的核心概念,与西方修辞学经典概念"修辞人格"有着深厚的学理渊源。一方面,语用身份与修辞人格均以言说效果为导向,都是话语主体通过特定话语策略在互动中构筑起的有利于实现说服目标的即时性身份,且均意识到诉诸情感对于诱发说服的重要性;另一方面,二者学科基础认定相异,后者可对前者构成理论补足。同时,语用身份伦理视角的开启也与修辞人格天然的伦理之维形成契合。修辞人格研究中对于言说者与受众在具体实践中应分别承担何种修辞责任、前者应作出何种满足后者"确定性"期待的"情境化判断"有着深入讨论,可望为尚待开启的语用身份伦理考察提供借鉴。本文最后简要展望了有待纳入未来语用身份与修辞人格界面研究议程的若干重要理论议题。
As a central concept of the current pragmatic identity studies,pragmatic identity bears close theoretical affinities with ethos enshrined in classical rhetoric.On one hand,both pragmatic identity and ethos are effect-oriented,refer to those strategically constructed adhocidentities of the agent in achieving persuasion,and attach equal importance to the emotional appeal in inducing persuasion.On the other hand,that the latter imports theoretically the former each other is accounted for by the divergence in their deeplying disciplinary assumptions.Meanwhile,echoing the ethical concerns inherent in ethos,an ethical approach to pragmatic identity has been initiated.Insights derived from studies on the former serve to inform the latter as to what rhetorical responsibility the speaker and the audience should take on respectively in actual interaction,and what situated judgment is to be made for meeting the audience’s expectation of certainty.This paper is concluded with a preview of several significant theoretical issues to be addressed in subsequent studies.
