The middle voice and the semantic role of instrumentin the middle clauses of causative verbs

摘要 工具语义角色可以在使役动词的中动语态语句中作主语。工具语义角色在使役动词的中动语态语句中担任主语的原因以及这类工具语义角色实现其特殊语用功能的方式值得探讨。 The semantic role of instrument can be the subject in the middle clause of a causative verb. This paper is devoted to the analysis of why the semantic role of instrument can be chosen as the subject in the middle clauses of causative verbs and how the semantic role of instrument achieves its unique pragmatic function in such clauses.
