摘要
《楚辞·天问》中的"顾菟在腹"是最早的关于月中之物的记载。"顾菟"应为动词与名词的组合,"顾"为"养育"之义,而"菟"专指月中之物。通过对早期文献的整理,以及出土的汉代帛画、画像石的考证,自先秦至魏晋时期,月中之物经历了"蟾蜍-蟾兔-兔"的发展演变。这一演变源于先民对于自然现象的主观想象。由此,《天问》时期的月中之物应当为蟾蜍。
"Gu Tu Zai Fu" in Asking Heaven was the earliest recording about the thing that lived in the moon. As a combination of verb and noun,"Gu" means fostering, and "Tu" specially refers to the thing living in the moon. By textual researching for plantings on silk and stone relief of Han Dynasty, from Pre-Qin to Wei-jin, the thing living in the moon experienced three stages: toad, toad and rabbit, and rabbit. The evolution originated from the subjective imagination of the ances tors about natural phenomena. Hence, the thing living in the moon during the period of Asking Heaven was toad.
