摘要
《大慈恩寺三藏法师传》前五卷为玄奘高足慧立撰著,文本集中叙述玄奘西行求法,史学精神和文学价值兼具,形式上类同僧人行记,实则使用了某种叙事策略。亦即:以梦境来预知人物前景,通过娓娓讲述取经事迹的来龙去脉为传主往返佛国提供合宜征候;结合历史记忆和文学想象积极塑造人物正面形象,把劫掠故事化为传主舍身求法的合情考验;乐于演绎特定事件中的佑护情节,并使之成为传主堪承佛统的合理依据,以展示丰富的人文内涵。借助这些手段,慧立撰著玄奘别传在文学上获得了巨大的成功,并由此影响着《西游记》的创作。
The first five volumes of Xuanzang biography of Temple of Great Maternal Grace were written by Huili,one of Xuanzang s excellent students.This book centrally narrated the protagonist went to Buddhism countries and sought for the classics,in a similar type of monk s travel notes,which held historical spirit and literary value both and used some narrative strategy.Namely,it foresaw character prospects by dreams,providing the appropriate sign for protagonist deeds through telling the sequence of events of sought story tirelessly.It combined historical memory with literary imagination,and created positive images actively,turning the plunder stories into reasonable tests of protagonist s sacrificing himself for classics.It deduced the protection plots of special events habitually,and made the reasonable basis of protagonist s undertaking the Buddhist tradition,then showed rich humanistic connotation.With these tools,Xuanzang Biography Written by Huili had been a great success in literature,and influenced the creation of the journey to the West.
