摘要
                
                    关于美籍华裔女作家谭恩美的经典小说《喜福会》的研究与评论不胜枚举。在此尝试用一种新的方法进行研究,即从语用学中格莱斯的会话含义理论的角度,以个案分析的定性分析方法,剖析小说《喜福会》对话中丰富的会话含义。《喜福会》是谭恩美的成名作。小说围绕四个家庭,描写了四位母亲移民美国的前后经历及其与各自女儿之间的矛盾冲突。围绕小说中发生的事件,在不同的语境下,人物之间的对话所蕴含的会话含义极其丰富。此研究通过从语用学研究视角研究《喜福会》,为更好地理解这部经典小说有所贡献,以丰富对谭恩美作品的传统批评角度,并对阅读与鉴赏谭恩美的小说有所启示。
                
                Researches and criticisms on The Joy Luck Club,the world-famous classic of the distinguished Chinese-American woman writer Amy Tan,have been diverse in approaches and numerous in numbers.As a qualitative case study,this thesis endeavors to study the conversational implicature in fictional dialogues of The Joy Luck Club,from a new pragmatic approach on the basis of Grice's Conversational Implicature Theory.The Joy Luck Club,is the first well-known book of Amy Tan.The story is centered on four families,describing experiences of four mothers before and after they emigrate from China to America as well as the conflicts between mothers and daughters.It provides a superb text for the case studies of conversational implicature with rich implications in dialogues made among characters in various contexts.The author,by exploring the conversational implicature in The Joy Luck Club,from the pragmatic approach,believes this thesis can make certain contribution to a fuller and better comprehension of this world-famous classic,help shed light on the application of pragmatics to the interpretation of fictions as well as enrich the conventional criticisms on this fiction.
