摘要
加州大学圣地亚哥分校(UCSD)是美国一流的公立研究型大学,2015年的新生数据表明,其新生具有较好的学术基础。就构成情况而言,UCSD新生的男女比例比较均衡,男生略多于女生;新生中,亚裔占比最高,而其他族群的占比都相对较低;国内新生主要来自洛杉矶、旧金山和圣地亚哥;与普通高中和一般社区学院相比,优质高中和优质社区学院学生进入UCSD的概率更高;近年来,大一新生中低收入家庭学生的比例有所下降,而转学生中低收入家庭学生的比例有逐年提高的趋势;比较而言,大一新生倾向于选择工程、科学类专业,而转学生则更倾向于选择社会科学类专业。
University of California San Diego is a first-class public research university in the United States. The statistical data of 2015 indicates that the new students have nice academic foundation. In terms of new student composition, the proportion of males and females is relatively balanced ;and the number of males is slightly more than that of females; the proportion of Asian new student is the highest among all the students, and far more than the proportion of Asian population in California;while other ethnic new students are relatively low, and are significantly lower than the corresponding proportion of the population in California; and the domestic new students mainly come from Los Angeles, San Francisco and San Diego. Compared with ordinary high schools and community colleges, the students of high-quality high schools and high-quality community colleges have a higher probability to enter UCSD. Recently,the proportion of first-time freshmen from low income families has decreased, while the proportion of transfer students from low income families has been increasing year by year. In comparison, first-time freshmen tend to major in engineering and science, and transfer students are more inclined to major in social sciences.
