Objective To describe the developmental delay screening among infants in Beijing from 2011 to 2015, and to provide information for policy-making. Methods Denver developmental screening test (DDST) was used for developmental delay screening in infants in 2011 through 2015, and the results were reported through an online system. Results The overall rate of 0-1 year old children' s developmental delay screening had an average of 91.40% in 2015 in Beijing. For infants with a Beijing household registration, the coverage rate averaged 92.12% compared with 90.10% for infants without such a non-Beijing registration. The overall coverage reached the 85% goal, set in the 12th five-year plan. This goal was achieved for the resident population in all 18 districts and counties, for population with Beijing household registration in 17 districts and counties, and for non-Beijing-household registration in 15 districts and counties. Urban areas, suburbs and outer suburbs have already achieved the 12th five year plan index. Conclusion The system of infant developmental screening performs well in Beijing. This lays the foundation for the improvement in child health care in the city.
