摘要
利用极限氧指数仪和垂直燃烧仪,研究了膨胀阻燃剂(IFR)和蒙脱土(MMT)对膨胀阻燃聚丙烯(PP-IFR)和膨胀阻燃聚丙烯/蒙脱土复合材料(PP-IFRMMT)的阻燃性能的影响。极限氧指数和垂直燃烧的结果表明,IFR的添加能明显改善PP-IFR的阻燃性能,蒙脱土的添加会进一步增强PP-IFRMMT的阻燃性能,IFR和MMT存在一定的阻燃协效作用。利用锥形量热研究了所制备的PP-IFR和PP-IFRMMT的燃烧行为。结果表明,IFR的添加降低了膨胀阻燃聚丙烯的热释放速率、总热释放量、生烟速率、总生烟量、一氧化碳和二氧化碳生成量,蒙脱土的添加会进一步降低以上数值,表明IFR在膨胀阻燃PP中存在良好的抑烟减毒作用,而MMT会进一步增强这一作用,IFR和MMT在抑烟减毒方面存在一定协同作用。研究结果表明:IFR的添加能明显降低PP-IFR的火灾危险性,共同添加IFR和MMT的膨胀阻燃聚丙烯/蒙脱土复合材料的火灾危险性最低。
The effects of montmorillonite(MMT)and intumescent flame retardant(IFR)on the flame retardancy properties of intumescent flame retarded PP(PP-IFR)and intumescent flame retarded PP/MMT composties(PP-IFRMMT)were investigated by limited oxygen index(LOI)and vertical burning test.It was shown from results of LOI and vertical burning test that the flame retardancy of PP-IFR are improved as the loading of IFR,the addition of MMT could enhance the flame retardancy of PP-IFRMMT further,which suggests that there is synergistic effect on flame retardancy of PP-IFRMMT between IFR and MMT.The combustion behavior of PP-IFR and PP-IFRMMT were investigated by cone calorimeter(CC),The results of CC showed that addition of IFR could decrease the heat release rate,total heat release,smoke production rate,total smoke production,CO production and CO2 production of PP-IFR,and the presence of MMT could decrease above values further,which indicates that IFR has good effect of smoke suppression and reducing the toxicity of smoke for PP-IFRPP,the addition of MMT could enhance the effect further.The results indicated that the addition of IFR an reduce fire risk of PP-IFR obviously and PP-IFRMMT with the loading of IFR and MMT shows the minimum fire risk.
