摘要
牛头伯劳(Lanius bucephalus Temminck & Schlegel)的种下分类是令人困惑的问题。这主要因为中国亚种(L.b.sicarius)是仅据单一的雌鸟标本而命名的,而且至今不知雄鸟的特征如何。本文报道了对中国牛头伯劳的系统分类研究结果,共查证和测量104号标本(48佰佰♀♀,49,7幼),包括中国亚种的原始采集地甘肃西南部标本(2♀♀,7,3幼)。对中国亚种的形态和量度特征作了详述,并首次报道了雄鸟特征。提出区分牛头伯劳亚种的一些诊断性特征以及它们的繁殖和越冬分布区。
It is a puzzling problem as to divide Bull-headed Shrike (Lanius buce- phalus T.and S.)into different subspecies.Mainly because the L.b.sicarius was established only from a single female specimen,and the male has not been known up to date.This paper presents results of our systematic inve- stigation on the Bull-headed Shrikes in China.A total of 104 (48♀♀,1983, 7 jun.)specimens,including the topotype (2♀♀,7,3 jun.)collected from southwestern Gansu Province,were examined.The morphological characteri- stics and measurements of the L.b.sicarius are described in detail,and the characters of the male are given for the first time.Some diagnostic features to classify the subspecies of the Bull-headed Shrike as well as the breeding and wintering ranges are given here.
