Objective: According to intraoperative monitoring of cortical somatosensory evoked potentials(CSEP),reduce injury of spinal cord. Methods:Sixty eight patients were monitored intraoperatively with cortical somatosensory evoked potentials.Result:fifty six of sixty eight patients demonstraed intraoperative improvement of somatosensory evoked potential signals;11 patients had no change;only one patients with stable recordings had a paralysis postoperatively but recovery 16 hours later. Conclusion:CSEP can be useful in avoiding paralysis postoperatively and predicting favorable postsurgical clinical outcome.
