摘要
语篇的主题思想是通过具有评价意义的语言成分来表达的,包括词汇、短语、句子和段落等。通过实证研究,结果表明,评价理论是一种适用于总结提炼语篇主题思想的理论。通过评价理论的引入,学生在进行语篇阅读时能有效地解读其主题思想,快速掌握作者的写作意图,较好地提高阅读效率。
The main idea of a discourse is expressed through certain linguistic operators ,in‐cluding words ,phrases ,sentences and paragraphs .By an empirical study ,this paper indi‐cates that appraisal theory is applicable for understanding the tenor of a discourse .Through the introduction of appraisal theory in English reading teaching ,English learners are able to grasp the gist of an article and increase the efficiency of reading .
