摘要
英国最年轻的诺贝尔文学奖获得者鲁德亚德·吉卜林的长篇小说《勇敢的船长》(Captains Courageous),在如何从道德教育的层面创作出高质量的儿童文学上,堪称典范,至今已拥有不下10种中文译本。这些译本是否都能从意义和风格两方面再现小说的精髓?本文选取译者翻译能力这一维度,将西班牙PACTE小组的翻译能力模式应用于小说译本的质量评估,特别是其中典型误译的评析之中,增强了误译评析的科学性,对译者翻译能力的习得具有启发作用。
As a good example of high-quality children' s literature with morally educational significance, Captains Courageous by Rudyad Kipling, the youngest British writer awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature, has been translated into no less than ten Chinese versions. The concern of this paper is whether these versions can convey the essence of the original novel both in meaning and style. The paper will apply PACTE' s Translation Competence Model to the evaluation of these versions of translation, especially to the scientific analysis of some typical mistakes in them in the hope of providing some enlightment for the acquisition of translation competence on the part of the translator.
