Objective To investigate the effects of chronic sleep deprivation on the expression of circulating adipocytokine of young rats. Methods A total of 27 three-week-old Sprague-Dawley( SD) rats were randomly divided into the sleep deprivation group, recovery group, and control group.A motor-driven walking wheel method was adopted to establish the sleep deprivation model. The expressions of serumcytokines, including leptin, adiponectin, RBP-4, and V aspin, were detected by the ELISA.The LEE's index was used to evaluate the adiposity status of rats. Results The LEE's index of the sleep deprivation group was significantly higher than that of the control group( P〈0.05).Compared with the control group, RBP-4 levels of the sleep deprivation group and recovery group significantly decreased( P〈0.1).Expressions of leptin, adiponectin, and V aspin of 3 groups were not significantly different. Conclusion Chronic sleep deprivation results in the increase of adiposity status and decrease of RBP-4 expression in serum, which do not improve significantly with the recovery of sleep.
