摘要
北京大学藏秦简中的《鲁久次问数于陈起》篇,包括32枚竹简上抄写的800多字。这篇文献通过"鲁久次"的提问和"陈起"的回答,首先明确了数学在人们知识结构中的头等重要地位,然后论述了"数"的起源及其与宇宙万物的关系,又详细列举了"数"在各项社会管理和生产活动中的实用价值,最后指出学习数学的一些入门诀窍。通过这篇文献我们认识到,至迟在战国晚期,学者已经对数学的起源和社会功能有了系统认识,这对于中国早期数学思想史的研究具有填补空白的意义。
The text entitled Lv Jiuci Asks Chen Qi about Numbers on the Qin bamboo slips collected by Peking University, contains over 800 characters inscribed on 32 bamboo slips. In the form of Lv Jiuci＇ s （鲁久次） questions and Chen Qi＇ s （陈起） answers, this text first shows that mathematics occupies a primarily important position in the hierarchy of knowledge. Then the text discusses the origin of numbers and their relationship with all the things in the universe, and expounds their pragmatic value in social management and productive activities. In the end, the text gives out some methods for mathematical study. This text indicates that by the late Warring States period, the scholars had got a systematic understanding of the origin of mathematics and its social functions. This text is of great significance to fill in the blanks for the study of mathematical thoughts in early China.
