摘要
学界对中国近代改造国民性思潮的研究取得了不菲的成果。学术成果涉及的问题有:关于"国民性"定义的各种不同意见;发端时间有近代初期、戊戌时期、辛亥革命时期、五四时期等不同说法;历史背景有内外交困的民族危机,现代化的深入推进,变法革命失败的反省,外来观念与话语的影响、移植,传统"心力"思想影响等因素;对中国国民劣根性及其病根的剖析,对理性人性与新国民性模式的探寻,成为思潮的重要内容;改造国民性有一个中西文化抉择的文化取向问题,方式途径则有以思想启蒙唤醒民众、以社会教育提升国民等;中外人士观察中国国民性有自省、比较与"他者"的审视等不同视角;少数学者将"国民性"话语称为"殖民话语"、"文化的谎言",但多数学者认为,国民性改造思潮既有积极意义,也有局限性,应对其进行一分为二的分析。
This article will give an overal and systematic research summary of the ideological trend to reform national characteristics in modern China,including the concepts of national characteristics,the origins of the ideological trend to reform national characteristics,critiques of national characteristics,neo-national characteristics and the routes to them,the diverse views of Chinese and foreigners towards Chinese national characteristics,and the nature and reviews of discourses on national characteristics.
