摘要
无论在源头还是在其发展进程中,美国环境史学均与文学有着不解之缘,其审美特质和批判精神,是"史"与"诗"互动的结果,是其活力之所在,更是环境史学者人文精神和普世情怀的体现。借助优雅的语言、文学式隐喻、多元的叙事及文化批判精神,美国环境史学已超越"旧史"的传统,进入当代史学的主流,在国际史学界亦已形成研究气候。在此背景下,对美国环境史学的文学性进行考证与论述,将使其意义得以拓展,并为中美当代环境史学研究的文学阐释提供新的视角。
Either at its birth or in the course of its evolution,American Environmental H istory does have much to do with literature by way of poetical language and metaphors,literary narratives and cultural criticism,which put together explain historians' humanitarian affections and pursuit of universal values,and combine to polish the aesthetic dimension and critical values of the concerned studies and writings. In this context,research into the literariness of American Environmental History will enrich its connotations and create more enlightening perspectives for contemporary environmental history studies.
