The reaction between carbon and oxygen in molten steel during EAF steelmaking has been studied experimentally and the relation between carbon and oxygen has been set up.Under the experimental conditions,[O]=0 0032[C] -0 9441 and equilibrium point for selective oxidation of [C] and [Fe] is [C]=0 035 %. The end carbon should be controlled higher than 0 04 % for low carbon steel melting.
