The World Trade Organization, as an important organization leading and dominating the world economy and economic activities, produces its greatest influence in the field of economy. In the time when China is on the point to join WTO, people focus their attention on economic field in China: What industry in China will make more profits? What industry will be badly impacted? The adjustment of it industry structure and policies is certainly what China is going to deal with after it joins WTO. What about its education? Is its education going to be impacted? Any reforms in the economic activities will be sooner or later reflected in educational practices, which is the rule that governs the changes and development in education. It can be foreseen that with the quickening pace of China's economy to be integrated into the world economy after it joins WTO, it is unavoidable that our education will be impacted by western culture. The author of this article makes her analysis on WTO and information education at school in the following aspects: 1. Joining WTO will quicken the modernization of our education, which will make for the cultivation of creativity among our students. According to the bilateral agreement made by China and America, America gives priority to secure China's telecom service, which must include all the service that the internet offers. It promises to guarantee that internet service will become free enterprise at the same speed as the telecom service. On the other hand, China is going to join Information Technology Agreement (ITA), and lift all its tariffs on such high tech products as computer, computer equipment, telephone equipment, semi conductor etc. Hence we can see that in a few years in the future, China will get better access to the Internet, the modernization process of our education is sure to be accelerated. 2. Information education at school and creativity in teaching. What's directly related to modern educational technology when we look into China's education after it joins WTO is the reform of classroom teaching, which will provide new environment for both teaching and learning, and bring forth completely new ideas and concepts in curriculum design and compiling. It will bring information integrated teaching materials to the teacher and create equal chances for the students to obtain the floor. These are hardware and software that will secure our education reform, yet the key to actualize these lies in concept of reform, creativity and policies. All in all, creativity in school education comes first. 3. Cultivation of students' creativity in information education. In school education, information education aims to foster persons with ability of creativity, in which the teacher seems to play a more important role. The teacher himself ought to be one of creative stature, thus he dares to challenge conventions and to reform the traditional education. If there is no challenge towards conventions, there will not be creativity. And the first step to take to challenge the conventions is to allow students asking themselves questions so as to unfold their personalities. Finally, the author reminds the educational administration department of two problems worthy of their noticing in information education: One is that we should glorify Chinese traditional culture to prevent it from melting down; the other is reconsideration should be given to our knowledge system in order to clarify the new ideas to conduct our school education.
