本文运用文本对照的方法，对《牛天赐传》和《远大前程》之间的关系作了分析、探讨。文章指出《远大前程》在形式结构（如人物设置、人物关系、主要情节）和艺术风格（如幽默、比喻、夸张、对照等艺术手法的运用）等方面对《牛天赐传》有一定影响，同时老舍还有意识地以《远大前程》为隐性参照物，在《牛天赐传》
This article presents a careful analysis of and a comprehensive textual comparison between The Biography of Niu Tianciand Great Expectations, the results of which can be summarized as follows: first, The Biography of Niu Tianciis greatly influenced by Great Expectations in formal structure (such as characterization and plot) and artistic style (such as the techniques of humour,metaphor,hyperbole and contrast); second,taking Great Expectations as an implicit reference,The Biography of Niu Tianci especially stresses the relevant cultural and social phenomena in old China so as to form an intertextual contrast with those described in that novel of Dickens.
