摘要
《海狼》中的女主人公莫德·布鲁斯特是杰克.伦敦作品中鲜有的女性角色之一。从女性主义视角出发,可以分析莫德是否有别于男权社会背景下文学作品中的传统女性形象。表面上来看,莫德是男性眼中的完美的"天使"。实际上莫德这一女性人物形象的塑造仍然未能逃出男权社会的影响。这位"天使"的形象是刻板而又不鲜活的,充其量不过是位"折翼的天使"。
Maud Brewster,the heroine in The Sea Wolf,is one of the few female characters in Jack London＇s works.This paper,from the perspective of feminism,tries to find out whether Maud is different from the conventional female characters in literary works in male-dominated society.Superficially,Maud is a perfect ＂angel＂ for the male.Yet in essence,the characterization of Maud cannot be free from the influence of domination of male.This ＂angel＂ is a rigid and inanimate one,at best an ＂angel＂ with broken wings.
