摘要
北洋时期,会党活动的兴衰与北洋政府权威的强弱成反比态势。袁世凯统治阶段,会党被认为是扰乱社会稳定的非法组织,在其高压政策下,会党活动由公开走向秘密;袁世凯死后,各派军阀混战,会党乘机重新崛起,但其革命性已丧失,大多流为会匪。中国共产党成立后,对会党进行了积极的争取,为广大会众自身解放指明了出路。
The vicissitudes of secret societies was closely related to the power of the Northern Warlords. They were regarded as illegal organizations during the reign of Yuan Shikai. Because of high pressure policy, the secret societies had to carry out their activities secretly. After Yuan Shikai died, wars broke among warlords. Thus, the secret societies took this opportunity to develop their own members and became more and more power- ful again. But the members of secret societies had lost their revolutionary nature and most of them had become bandits. After the Communist Party of China was founded, CPC tried actively for the trust of the secret societies and showed the massive members the way to emancipate themselves.
