摘要
以隐喻认知与一词多义现象的关系以及Boers对隐喻意识的定义为理论框架,在湖北三所高校分别实施相同的实验考察提高隐喻意识对高校非英语专业学生在多义词记忆方面产生的影响。各实验结果均显示提高隐喻意识可以促进多义词记忆。这一结果可以从词汇意象、词汇深度加工、和词汇联想等方面得到解释,且对大学英语词汇教学改革有着启示作用。
In the theoretical framework of relationship between polysemy and metaphorical cognition and Boers＂ definition of metaphor awareness, the same empirical study is carried out in three universities in Hubei province to analyze the influence of metaphor awareness on Chinese non-English majors＂ learning of polysemous words. The result of empirical research shows that improving metaphor awareness can help improve recalling and creatively using polysemous words. This result can be explained by depth-ofprocessing, imagery and word association, and can be beneficial to the revolution of college English vocabulary teaching.
