摘要
档案工作者必须转换传统的纸质文件观念，以迎接电子文件的挑战。现代社会正向后现代主义社会过渡，对基于过程联系的后现代主义理论的理解将有助于我们实现这一转换，化保管方法为后保管方法，即重新认识来源原则，把档案工作中心由档案实体保管移向形成档案的活动过程。后保管和后现代主义趋势将影响到每一位形成、管理、保管和利用记录信息的人。本文对我国档案工作者开拓视野、改进研究方法都有深刻的启示。
Archivists must change the old 'paper minds' in order to deal with electronic records. The modern society is passing and the post-modernist era is coming. An understanding of the post-modernist theories of process-based contextually can help us turn from the custodial approach to the 'post-custodial' one. That means we should reflesh and enliven the provenance principle of our profession , and shift the emphasis from the physical objects to the functional context in which records-creating activities take place. Post-custodial and post-modernist trends will affect all those who create , manage, preserve and use recorded information. Our Chinese archivists can draw inspiration from this article to enlarge our knowledge and improve our research methods.
