摘要
The civil society separated from political state was born in modern bourgeois revolution,but its political functions did not disappear after the revolution as some scholars ever asserted. Hegel and Marx have pointed out the limitations of civil society and clarified its economic functions. With the development of history,some scholars,such as Gramsci,Habermas and Dahrendorf,not only put great emphasis on political and cultural significance of civil society,but also increasingly clarified its internal structure divisions,and thus established the category of "Gongmin Shehui". Nowadays,civil society contains multiple implications of "Shimin Shehui","Gongmin Shehui" and "Wenmin Shehui" ,and so on. The meaning of "Gongmin Shehui" is typical prominent. The theory of civil society develops with realities,and its vitality and explanatory power is also growing.
