Theoretical and Practical Study on Information Commons in University Libraries Overseas

摘要文章从信息共享空间(Information Commons)的概念、特征、功能、结构四个方面介绍了国外图书馆信息共享空间的理论研究状况以及美国、加拿大等国大学图书馆信息共享空间的实践,指出了国外信息共享空间理论与实践对我国图书馆的启示。 This paper introduces the theoretical research situation of information commons in overseas libraries in four aspects of concept, characteristic, function and structure. It also describes its practices in the USA, Canada, etc. And it also points out the enlightenment it brought to Chinese libraries in both theoretical and practical level.
