摘要
采用琼斯矩阵方法分析了光纤的两个偏振分量间的相位差Δφ和结点两边偏振轴的旋转角度θ对输出消光比P的影响,并根据两个互相垂直的检偏器输出光强度比值P′在输出偏振主轴附近具有与输出消光比P相同的变化特性,证明了结点两边达到完全偏振匹配时消光比P不随Δφ变化。通过在管状压电陶瓷(PZT)上施加正弦型驱动电压来对光纤的两个偏振分量间的相位差Δφ进行周期性调制,当改变θ角时测量到P′不随时间变化,表明结点前后偏振匹配。理论分析和模拟实验结果表明,偏振匹配精确度可优于0.01°。
Jones Matrix is used to analyze the relationshop of the output polarization extinction ratio (P) versus the phase difference (△φ) between the two polarization modes and the rotational angle θ between the polarization axes on each side of a junction. Based on the characteristic that the ratio of the output power P' of the two orthogonal polarizer holds the same changing property as P around the output polarization axis,it can be proved that P is independent of △φ when the polarization axes on each side of the junction are well rationally aligned (θ=0°, 90°, 180°). The method uses a PZT drived by a sine voltage (f=2 kHz)to modulate the phase different △φ periodically,and its is shown that the polarization axes on each side of the junction are well rationally aligned if the measured F turns into a line (unchanged with time) when varying θ. It is found in the theoretical analysis and simulated experiment that the accuracy of rotational alignment can be better than 0.01 deg. With its easiness and accuracy,the method can be suitable for some optical fiber systems such as the rotational alignment of the fiber and other waveguide or optical components.
