New Water Conservancy Projects with Spartina anglica C.E.Hubbard and Spartina alterniflora Loisel

摘要 建议用大米草和互花米草创新水利工程,包括:促淤造陆,与海争地;消浪抗风,保滩护岸;保持水土,遏制流失;护港减淤,便利航船;降低污染,改善环境;米草水工,相互促进;舟状草滩,飘现水面。其中有些已经实现了多年,其余的则尚待试验、实施。上述设想的实现将会带来巨大的经济、社会和生态效益。 Some new water conservancy projects with Spartina anglica C. E. Hubbard and Spartina alterniflora Loisel are proposed in this paper. These include: (1) Land formation from sea by promoting sediment accretion; (2) Reduction of stormy waves for coastal stabilization; (3) Preventing soil erosion; (4) Reducing siltation for safe navigation; (5) Pollution control and environmental improvement; (6) Mutual promotion between Spartina community and water conservancy works; (7) Creation of floating Spartina vegetation similar to a boot. Some of them have existed for many years, others are under experimentation. It is expected that the realizations of the ideas mentioned above would bring about tremendous economic, social and ecological benefits to us.
