摘要
异体字是汉字整理与规范的主要对象,然而,由于以往的异体字研究对异体字的定义过于宽泛,混淆了不同性质的字际关系的界限,给汉字的整理与规范造成了一些混乱。对异体字的界定从本质上可分为同词异形和同字异体两种观点。事实上,应当从构形和功能两个维度重新定义异体字,即异体字是为语言中同一个词而造且在使用中功能未分化的、同一个字的不同形体。由此可以划清异体字和分化字、通假字之间的关系,避免汉字精简中的一些弊端,对异体字的整理与规范工作有重要的指导意义。
It is an important project to sort out and standardize the variant Chinese characters. But this is presupposed by an accurate definition. The present paper first makes a full discussion of a number of definitions for variant characters, and then puts forward a principle that the definition of variant characters need to differentiate the relation of the same characters with their variant forms, and to confine variant forms to the same character relation. The variant characters must satisfy the condition of formation and function. The paper then analyzes the types of variant characters in cOmbination with the definition. So the study here deepens the knowledge of variant characters, which has significant reference value to the ongoing researches of the Standard Characters List.
