摘要
描述了不同的查询机制;分析了分布式数据处理算法及其能耗特性;提出了一种能源有效的路由协议RPDDP并给出了RPDDP的协议描述。RPDDP采用双向查询机制以节省路径建立过程的能源消耗;通过提供分布式网络数据处理有效地减少了通信开销;并且为用户提供能源节约和可靠性之间的折中机制。仿真实验结果表明与已有的传统查询机制相比,RPDDP的查询成功概率较高,平均每个分组的通信开销较低;当sink同时发送2个查询包时,网络性能最优。
Aim. DD (Directed Diffusion) is, in our opinion, not energy-efficient for supporting distributed data processing for wireless sensor networks. So we propose RPDDP (routing protocol supporting distributed data processing) to optimize energy efficiency. In the full paper, we explain RPDDP in detail; in this abstract, we just add some pertinent remarks to listing the three topics of explanation: (1) information query model or search strategy; the subtopics are query mechanism (subtopic 1.1) and asymptotic analysis (subtopic 1.2); in topic (1), we list and discuss three types of query mechanism and select bidirectional query mechanism to be employed in this paper; (2) distributed data processing model; the subtopics are introduction to data processing (subtopic 2.1), distributed data processing algorithm (subtopic 2.2), and the energy consumption of data processing (subtopic 2.3), whose subsubtopics are energy consumption of distributed data processing algorithm (subsubtopic 2.3.1) and energy consumption of centralized data processing algorithm (subsubtopic 2.3.2); in subtopic 2.3, we finally select distributed data processing algorithm as the suitable one to be employed in our method; (3) description of our algorithm based on RPDDP; our algorithm adopts bidirectional search scheme to conserve energy consumed on route setup; it effectively decreases traffic overhead by providing distributed in-network data processing; furthermore, it also saves energy through having inbuilt trade-off mechanism that gives the user the option of prolonging network lifetime at the cost of lower reliability. Simulation experimental results, given in Figs. 1 and 2 in the full paper, show that the probability of search success delivered by our algorithm is higher and the traffic overhead per node is lower than the existing traditional search scheme; when sink dispatches two search packets simultaneously, the network performance is optimal.
