摘要
全面介绍美国基本科学指标数据库(ESI)这一衡量科学研究绩效、跟踪科学发展趋势的基本分析评价工具,分析其多种功能,并举出国内外利用ESI分析解决问题的实例,最后对ESI进行缺陷分析,指出一些在应用研究工作中需要注意的问题,以期为ESI价值和作用的进一步研究提供一定的理论和应用基础,进而充分利用ESI。
By analyzing its essential manifold functions in detail, the paper introduces an American evaluation tool Essential Science Indicators. With instances at home and abroad, the authors show us how to use ESI to settle the practical problems. In addition, the paper also analyzes the limitations of the ESI and the problems that need be noticed in the practical research, which would provide some theoretic and practical bases for the further research and application of ESI.
