摘要 It is the zeal, courage and wisdom of thinkers that prepared the ground for progress of human civilizations. By basing himself on a dream of building up a human commonwealth, Confucius (556-479 BC) pioneered the development of the Oriental thinking. Likewise, Greek philosopher Plato (427-347 BC) laid the foundation of Western thinking through pursuit of what he called the "Kingdom of Ideal" Harmony has transcended geographical and social divisions ever since it came into being as a philosophical concept.
