The most recent survey of BIS shows that the Australian Dollar versus US dollar （AUD.tUSD） was the fourth most actively traded currency pair. That a spectacular rise in the importance of the AUD in foreign exchange markets has been witnessed. The purpose of this paper is to look at a variety of factors that may have explained some of the dse in the liquidity and interest in the AUD and look at the extent to which they wilt likely remain in place in the months and years ahead
