摘要
远程教育的学科发展需要从多学科多角度进行研究,社会学便是一种必要的和可行的研究视角。随着远程教育实践和研究的不断深入发展,远程教育社会学有望从远程教育学的分支研究领域迈向分支学科。作为一门分支学科,远程教育社会学与教育社会学虽然有一些类似的地方,但也有诸多不同之处,后者显然不能替代或涵盖前者。
Development of discipline in distance education calls for research on multiple subjects and from multiple angles and sociology is actually a necessary and feasible angle for making research.This angle may help us to extend horizon of research,enrich subject theory of distance education,and enhance construction of subject system for distance education.This article will first summarize the current situation of sociological development for distance education.It points out that the researchers from distance education domain and sociological domain of education are concerning about and expecting the creation of sociology for distance education.Many distance education researchers have already been involved in the research area of sociology for distance education in fact.They have made preliminary approaches on some subject factors in sociology of distance education from such respects as the target of research,the content of research,the nature of subjects and the significance of social practice.Meanwhile,they go further to explore the three large concrete research domains in sociology of distance education:the social stipulation of distance education,the social characteristics and social functions.Research on social stipulation focuses on the respect of function and constrain of society in facilitating distance education.Approaches on social characteristics mainly concern research of sociology for distance learners and tutors,distance courses,distance learning and virtual learning communities.Exploration on social function of distance education includes research on the expecting social functions and effective social functions.At the end of this article,the authors make further approach on the future trends for sociology development of distance education from three aspects as research targets,subject nature and methodology.They take the view that with further development of practice and research of distance education,there is hope for sociology of distance education from branch research area to branch discipline.
