摘要
                
                    贞节问题在后五四时期仍然是一个很突出的问题。五四时期严峻的社会现实批判逐渐让位于后五四时期深入的历史追溯与理论探讨。潘光旦的贡献在于结合西方优生学、性心理学的视角与知识,阐释了传统贞节观背后蕴涵的重视子嗣的性道德观念;改造了传统禁欲的“守节”观念,使之与霭理士中庸克己的人文主义性道德观相一致;将中西学术中关于性道德的健康成分加以融合,为创造适合现代社会需要的新的性道德观念提交了一份答卷。
                
                Chastity of women was still a very important problem after the May Fourth Movement. At the time, the restricted ideas of chastity in traditional society were only eroded a little by the new trends of thoughts of the Movement and became flexible. The serious criticism to social reality during the Movement was gradually replaced by deep historical research and theoretical exploration. Pan Guang- dan made his contributions to the academic and thinking trends: with the perspectives and knowledge of Western Eugenics and Sex Psychology, he explained the sex moralities of thinking highly of male offspring behind the traditional ideas of chastity; he remolded traditional ascetic ideas of "preserving chastity" and made them consistent with Havelock Ellis' s moderate humanist sex moralities. Pan Guang - dan mixed together the healthy elements of sex moralities in Chinese and Western learning and provided a new answer for creating new sex moralities suiting the needs of modem society.
