基于长周期光纤光栅的全光开关特性研究

摘要 基于长周期光纤光栅(LPFG)中脉冲演变遵循的非线性耦合模方程,用数值方法研究了LPFG中超短脉冲的非线性传输,得到了LPFG工作于谐振和非谐振情况下光开关的开关特性。发现在两种工作情况下,利用高阶超高斯脉冲都能够显著提高光开关的开关率,随着超高斯脉冲的阶数增加,光开关的开关率也将增加。 Based on the nonlinear coupled mode equation describing pulse in long period fiber gratings(LPFG), we studied the propagation of ultrashort pulses in long period fiber gratings numerically. The switching performance of LPFG in two typical cases (on-resonance case and off-resonance case) are obtained. We found that in the both cases, the on-off ratio of all-optical switching in long period fiber gratings can be improved remarkably by using the higher order super-Gaussian pulse, and the on-off ratio of the switching increases as the order of the super-Gaussian pulse increases.
