摘要
鉴于我国研究领域存在的有关定性研究和定量研究范式上的争论,本文将根据近年西方英语文献对社会科学研究方法的研究及论述,阐述定量研究和定性研究的特点及各自的优势与缺陷,从认识论和方法论角度探讨范式之争的性质,最后提出范式之争对具体研究工作的启示。
In view of the debates on the paradigms of qualitative and quantitative research in China, this paper examines the issue according to the recent research findings about research methodologies in social sciences in English literature, it illustrates the characteristics of both qualitative and quantitative research, discusses the advantages and disadvantages of the each research paradigm, examines the epistemological and methodological nature of the debates on research paradigms and raises the writer's view on the implications of the debates on research paradigms.
