With a radioligand binding assay,theresults showed that there may be a 12(R)-hydroxy-eicosatetraenoic acid (12(R)HETE) receptor in the cortex membrane of rat kidney .It was saturable ,specific and rever-skble ,A linear Scatchard plot was obtained,with a Kd of 20.0±s 0.7nmol·L-1 and a Bmax of 179±s 11 pmol· mg-1.LTB4 was able to competitive replacement for 12(R)HETEreceptor binding,it yielded a Ki value of 60.2±s 0.9 nmol·L-1 that was about 3 fold affinity less than that of acids;cytochrome P45012(R)HETE receptor binding .None metaboite of 12(R)HETE was found during kidney perfusion ,detected by RP-HPLC and lipuid scintillation.So it is suggested that thevalues of Kd and Bmax havent been interfered by itsmetabolites.
