Belief and deed are two important concepts in Judaism and Christianity. Judaism is based on the belief to the God, taking the aim of being a righteous man, stressing on the role of deed and law, and therefore is regarded as one “religion worshipping deed”. Its way of salvation can be summarized as “doctrine depending on deed”. By contrast, Christianity holds the belief to Jesus Christ, insists that one can be rescued only by “belief”, so its way of salvation is called “doctrine depending on belief”. Those two tendencies indicate that Judaism and Christianity are different in the focus on belief and deed, and more substantially, on the belief idol and way of salvation.
