The background of GB 18351 -2001 (national standard for vehicle - use alcohol gasoline) revision and the major technical specifications involved as well as the basis for revision are discussed in detail in this paper. The revised standard has laid down a foundation for the execution of vehicle alcohol gasoline use expansion plan issued by National Development & Reform Committee in year 2004.
